This week the US Bureau of Reclamation announced the appointment of Lanie Paquin as Deputy Director of Reclamation’s California–Great Basin Region. Klamath Water Users Association strongly supports the appointment of Paquin.
In that role, Paquin will oversee the Klamath Basin Area Office and Klamath Project.
Paquin has served as Acting Deputy Regional Director for the last few months and has dived in on Klamath Project issues. “Lanie is a clear thinker and straight shooter, and we are very pleased she has accepted the position permanently,” said Tracey Liskey, President of KWUA’s board of directors.
Paquin has worked for Reclamation in various capacities for over twenty years. Most recently, she served as Area Manager for Reclamation’s Snake River Project. “Our friends in the Snake River Project told us to expect good things, and they were right,” said KWUA Executive Director Paul Simmons.
