December 17, 2006 Kathy Moore drives a Tulelake School bus, picking up farm and ranch children dozens of miles from town. A bus driver gets up before dawn, and braves blizzards and snow drifts, dust storms, and cattle drives. They come to know the children, attend their plays, ball games, and graduation ceremonies and parties. They go on field trips and away games that are sometimes hundreds of miles from their rural homes. They see the child grow up, laugh, cry, and try to fit in. They see their successes and failures. They encourage them and love them. No matter how many years pass, farm kids always remember their bus driver.
