Tulelake grows 6,000,000# of horseradish, 30% of the horseradish grown in the United States.

 
In 1954, the veteran homesteaders and other Tulelake farmers formed a co-op and built Newell Grain Growers elevator. The Newell Grain elevators alone house 20,000 tons of grain annually, including oats, barley and wheat. Its worth is approximately 2 1/2 million dollars per year.
